# How to Add Liquidity ?

Providing liquidity means depositing two tokens — SPACE and the second token of the pool — into a decentralized exchange pool. In return, you get a liquidity position that earns a share of the trading fees, and that counts towards your [SPACE LP bonuses](/space-token-bonuses/space-lp-bonuses.md) on Final Autoclaim.

Every SPACE pool is managed from the same place: the **SPACE Liquidity UI**.

### What is a Uniswap V3 pool?

Uniswap V3 is a decentralized exchange (DEX) that operates on multiple blockchains, including Ethereum and other Ethereum-compatible networks. It allows users to trade various cryptocurrencies in a decentralized and trustless manner, eliminating the need for a centralized exchange.

Uniswap V3 uses an automated market maker (AMM) model, where the price of assets is determined by the ratio of tokens in a liquidity pool, rather than the traditional supply and demand dynamics of buyers and sellers. This ensures faster and more efficient trading, often with lower fees compared to centralized exchanges.

Uniswap V3 introduces features such as concentrated liquidity, where liquidity providers can specify price ranges for their contributions. This results in improved capital efficiency and potentially higher returns. It also allows for custom fee structures and provides more flexibility for liquidity providers.

On **BNB Smart Chain**, the SPACE / BNB pool runs on **PancakeSwap V3** instead of Uniswap V3. Both use the same concentrated-liquidity model, and the SPACE Liquidity UI works the same way on both.

### What is liquidity mining?

Liquidity mining, also known as yield farming, is the act of providing liquidity via cryptocurrencies to decentralized exchanges (DEXs). Since the primary goal of an exchange is to be liquid, DEXs reward users willing to bring capital to their platform.

Most DEXs are decentralized by replacing order books with an Automated Market Maker (AMM). An AMM is a smart contract that regulates trading. Since smart contracts are decentralized, users do not have to trade the order book of an exchange. Instead, they effectively trade with other users.

The AMM collects trading fees and grants them to each liquidity provider (LP) as a reward. The DEX therefore offers a symbiotic ecosystem where each group of users helps the other: the token swapper pays a small fee to trade, and the liquidity provider earns money for providing the liquidity that the swapper needs.

### Why use the SPACE Liquidity UI?

The SPACE Liquidity UI is our own cross-chain interface, built for one job: adding and managing liquidity on the official SPACE pools. It removes the settings that used to be the main source of mistakes on third-party interfaces.

* **The right pool is pre-selected.** You cannot end up in a look-alike pool with a different contract address.
* **The trading fee tier is always 0.05%.** Other fee tiers are not counted for SPACE LP bonuses and staking on Final Autoclaim.
* **The range is always Full Range.** Only full-range liquidity is counted in your SPACE LP balance.
* **The 50/50 ratio is computed for you.** Type one amount, the other one is filled in automatically.
* **Native tokens are handled directly.** No manual wrapping of ETH, POL, S, AVAX or BNB.
* **All your positions in one page.** Claim fees or close a position from <https://liquidity.spacetoken.tech/positions>.

Only liquidity provided at the **0.05%** fee tier and over the **full range** counts towards your SPACE LP balance. The SPACE Liquidity UI always applies both, so you cannot get this wrong.

### Before you start

1. Install a Web3 wallet. We recommend [Rabby.io](https://rabby.io/), since it is probably the most secure and the user experience is great.
2. Hold **SPACE** and the second token of the pool on the network you chose. You can buy both on [SpaceSwap](https://spaceswap.tech/?utm_campaign=add_liquidity\&utm_medium=referral\&utm_source=gitbook).
3. Keep a little of the network's native token aside to pay the gas fees.

### After you add liquidity

1. Refresh your SPACE LP balance on the [Space Bonuses page](https://autofaucet.dutchycorp.space/?redir=space_bonus.php) of Final Autoclaim to enjoy the bonuses.
2. Once your LP balance is refreshed, activate the **xSPACE LP staking pool** to enjoy a high APR.
